I'm practically finished with my sisters website, I just have to put her pictures up in the gallery and upload it to her FTP. I will give you guys the link when it's up and running.

A client came to me and he wants me to design him a website and a logo to go on his website and stationary.

In short the website will be 70% focused on corporate business and 30% tours, travel etc. A large focus must be on conferencing and accommodation. He will source venues for clients or people if they want to hold a conference, special event, wedding, weekend away and team building.
 

The names will be one of the following or a combination:

• Tekalak Marketing
• Tekalak Business Solutions
• Tekalak Destinations
• Tekalak Africa
• Telalak Travel

As for the word Tekalak - it sounds African but is just a made up word which his boy Troy said as his first "real" word. I know the word Takalak is linked to mountain in Iraq and is also an old Australian tribe. So he changed it to the TE as opposed to Ta in Takalak. I don't know why he changed the spelling of the word because a mountain or a mountain feel logo would go perfectly with one of the names.

LOGO:

So for now only the logo, font and graphic to have a combination of red, black and yellow. He would suggest the yellow to be between the red and black to ensure it stands out. I can also try blue, yellow and black and green, yellow and black as options just to see what catches the eye. Similar to the Lions Rugby logo.

As for the graphic he would like it to look modern and clear cut, not too complicated as it must fit well on caps and business cards etc.

Any idea on what i can do for this logo. Logo's aren't my forte. So far i like these two names:

• Tekalak Business Solutions
• Tekalak Destinations

Have no idea on the graphic though. I could add a neat font for the name either next to the graphic or combine it with the graphic.

Hey guys and gals

Sorry its taken me so long to blog again. It's just been crazy this end.

I'm still looking for a job but I think I want to do my own little company because I am so liking this thing by working on my own at home it is so much better than going to an office.

Right now I've got 3 projects that I'm doing for people that I'll eventually get paid for.

1. I'm building my sisters website for her company. So far she is loving it, just a few hiccups but I'm getting through them with help from my awesome friends like yourself.

2. One of my Dads friends wants me to design him a 4 page folder with 15 flyers inside. (I told you a bit about it in my last blog). So far I still need to see him and discuss with him what he wants and that. He still needs to discuss with his partner about me designing it first before we meet. I hope it's soon.

3. My Dads personal trainer, her husband wants to meet up with me and discuss about me making a website for his company and setting up everything like the domain and all.

Got a busy few months on my hands here. I'm loving it though.

Saturday night was awesome at the restaurant. I wish all you guys were there to share it with me. My friend Suzanne took some photos on Saturday night.. They were naughty, at the end of the evening they told the waiter that it's my birthday so they brought me an ice cream with italian kisses on it and sang happy birthday lol. Love my friends too much.



We hoping to get togethor soon. My friend Suzanne has just moved into her very first home with her boyfriend Freddie. When they get settled in she wants Mike and I to come over for dinner. Can't wait to see the flat.

I might have a once off job with one of my Dads friends. He wants me to design him a 4 page folder with 15 flyers inside. My Dad is bringing home examples for me tonight to see roughly the template that his friend wants. I still have to think on what to charge him. Any ideas on the design of the folder would be greatly appreciated.

I might be getting a new puppy soon. I have thought very long and hard on getting a new puppy, exactly the same breed as my previous one. I miss her so much. I have contacted a person who breeds Yorkshire Terriers and she told me she'll have miniature females available at the end of January. I can't wait.

Now here is the BIGGEST news yet. Westlife might come this year to South Africa during their final concert. I have joined a group on facebook called Westlife South Africa in which two girls from here started this group to see how many South African fans there are. It turns out there are alot. These two girls spoke to a local promoter here and told him about Westlife breaking up and that we would love for them to do one more concert in South Africa. He was highly impressed by their plea that he said he would do anything and everything to make our wish come true. We are still doing our research on where we would like Westlife to perform, so far Johannesburg is winning. Please hold thumbs.

Hey friends

I'm back from holiday. I got back yesterday afternoon. What a relaxing holiday I had, now it's back to the drawing board in finding a job.

What you guys do to celebrate the new year? I went out with my friend Hayley, her boyfriend and my parents to a Greek restaurant called Plaka. What a great way to celebrate the new year.

Today is my birthday! I'm 25, I feel old lol. I got this stunning ring from my parents that they had made for me, it has Topaz stones in it. From my friend Hayley I got a book called "Life Without Limits" and a handbag. Definitely got spoilt. Tonight I'm going out with one of my good friends Suzanne and her boyfriend and Mike (not sure if you remember me talking about him last year).
